A Nuthatch will search for insects inside the bark of a tree but also eat beech nuts, acorns and seeds. They inhabit deciduous woodland, gardens and parkland. The Nuthatch will mainly nest up in a tree trunk but may also nest in a bird box or in a wall. Present all year mainly in Wales and mid and southern England. This bird has blue-grey upper parts of the body with a whitish chest and reddish white flanks. They have a long grey beak and a black stripe across the eyes. The female will lay 6-9 eggs which she will incubate for about two weeks. Includes Nuthatch bird call.
